WHY SQUARE DANCE? Square dancing
is a terrific answer for couples looking for good music,
fellowship, exercise, and lots of good clean fun.
WHAT IS SQUARE DANCING? The quick response would be,"Square dancing is fun and friendship, set to music." That doesn't give you much information, so let's take a different view. Square dancing is movement by groups of 4 couples with each group arranged in a square. Their movements are set to music and directed by a caller.
A newcomer to Atlanta will find it a wonderful way to
meet new friends. The Peachtree Squares and
square dancers in general are the most welcoming and
friendly people anywhere. You will have so much
fun you won't notice you're getting aerobic
Take a class with us and you can earn yourself a Peachtree Squares Badge!
CALLER: Dan Mitchell, our talented
caller, is also well known as a dynamic, friendly and
patient instructor for the dance lessons we sponsor.
He uses large doses of humor to keep us laughing
at our own mistakes.
Dan has been calling for our club for over ten years and is known throughout the South.
|DANCES: Our regular club dances are normally held the first and third Fridays of each month, from 8:00 to 10:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall of the Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road, Atlanta, GA. See the Calendar Page for dates.|
SQUARE DANCE LESSONS: The Peachtree
Squares club sponsors an evening square dance class on
Tuesdays, starting each year in September.
Instruction is by our very own Dan Mitchell, with the
help of many of our club members.
See the Calendar Page for dates and times and the Classes Page for details.
