|WHY SQUARE DANCE? Square dancing is a terrific answer for couples looking for good music, fellowship, exercise, and lots of good clean fun.
WHAT IS SQUARE DANCING? The quick response would be,"Square dancing is fun and friendship, set to music." That doesn't give you much information, so let's take a different view. Square dancing is movement by groups of 4 couples with each group arranged in a square. Their movements are set to music and directed by a caller. Anyone, age 16 to 100 who is able to walk un-assisted can square dance with our club.
|A newcomer to Atlanta will find it a wonderful way to meet new friends. The Peachtree Squares, and square dancers in general, are the most welcoming and friendly people anywhere. You will have so much fun you won't notice you're getting aerobic exercise too.
Alcohol is strictly forbidden at all of our functions.
|CALLER: Dan Mitchell, our talented caller, is also well known as a dynamic, friendly and patient instructor for the beginners' square dance
lessons we sponsor. He uses large doses of humor to keep us laughing at our own mistakes.
Dan has been calling for our club for twenty-eight years and is known throughout the South.
|DANCES: Our regular club dances are normally held the first and third Fridays of each month, from 7:30 to 9:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall of Peachtree Presbyterian Church, 3434 Roswell Road, Atlanta, GA. See the Calendar Page for dates. Visitors are always welcome to attend our dances. Park behind the Church, enter the right-hand doors under the portico and take the elevator to the second floor. Occasionally, the Fellowship Hall will be used for some Church function. In that event, we dance in the gym. To reach the gym, take the ramp or steps to the last door on the right, and take the elevator to the third floor.|
